2025 Instructor Renewal Checklist
BLS CPR Instructor Course
A BLS CPR Instructor Initial Course was offered in November of 2024. Currently no future courses are planned at this time. Contact our office if you are interested in becoming an AHA BLS Instructor.

BLS Instructor Course Application
CPR and First Aid Training for Lay Rescuers (Heartsaver)
(non healthcare providers or non-credentialed staff)
Heartsaver Courses Available Include:
- Heartsaver CPR/AED
- 3 hour course on adult, child, and infant CPR and use of the AED
- Cost is $25 plus cost of card
- 3 hour course on adult, child, and infant CPR and use of the AED
- First Aid with CPR/AED
- 6 hour course on adult first aid and includes adult, child and infant CPR and use of the AED
- Cost is $50 plus cost of card
- 6 hour course on adult first aid and includes adult, child and infant CPR and use of the AED
- Adult Heartsaver First Aid
- 3 hour course on first aid only (NO CPR or AED)
- Cost is $25 plus cost of card
- 3 hour course on first aid only (NO CPR or AED)
- Pediatric First Aid
- Course that is specific to pediatric-related illness and injuries
- Course length will vary based on modules taught
- Course fee is $25 for Pediatric First Aid only, $50 for both Pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED modules (plus cost of card)
- Course that is specific to pediatric-related illness and injuries
- Family and Friends CPR Course
- This 1.5 hour course covers the basics of CPR and is non-credentialing (no card)
- Cost is $15
- Skills Check Verification
- This is a skills test verification for any of the Heartsaver courses taken online
- Cost to verify skills varies between $15.00 for CPR/AED only and $25.00 for CPR/AED and First Aid (plus cost of card)
- This is a skills test verification for any of the Heartsaver courses taken online
Healthcare BLS Provider CPR Training
(For Nurses, Nurse Aides, EMT's, Physicians, etc.)
Details on the Healthcare Provider Courses Available Include:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course
- This 3 hour course covers adult, child, and infant CPR/AED, bag-valve-mask, and advanced airways
- Cost is $50
- Skills Check Verification
- This is a skills testing verification after an online course was completed
- Cost to verify skills for HeartCode BLS is $15.00
Online CPR and First Aid Training
(For those who wish to take a fast course online or those unable to get into an in-person course)
Courses available online include:
- HeartCode BLS (formerly Healthcare Provider) (#20-3553) is $31.00
- Heartsaver CPR AED Online (#20-1401) is $15.00
- Heartsaver First Aid Online (#20-1402) is $15.00
- Heartsaver First Aid and CPR/AED Online (#20-1403) is $19.50
- Pediatric Heartsaver First Aid and CPR/AEDOnline (#20-1404) is $20.00
NOTE: All of these courses have a 3 step process.....
- Visit https://elearning.heart.org/ to register, purchase, and complete the course at your own pace - COURSE DONE ONLINE
- Set up a skills verification with Oakes Ambulance and come in to "practice" the skills - DONE AT OAKES AMBULANCE
- Test on the skills to receive your credential card (same day as practice) - DONE AT OAKES AMBULANCE

Verify AHA e-Cards
Students who successfully complete an AHA course will receive an electronic "e-Card" issued by Oakes Ambulance CTC from the AHA. If you do not receive the email with the link to claim your card from the AHA, you can verify using the website below.
